Moments of New York [May 2016]
We’ve been home from NYC for a few weeks and I guess it’s taken me a while to process our trip and to get my head around all that happened while we were there -- and everything that has happened since. It was so great to be back in NYC -- my love and passion for the city hadn’t faded -- if anything it had grown (if that was possible) and as we walked along the Hudson on my first night my heart danced with happiness and I had the biggest smile plastered on my jet lagged face. I felt like I was home.
Our days were filled with late mornings and even later nights. Bagels. Nervous waits in Tribeca bars. Klimt’s dazzling Woman In Gold. Subway rides to Williamsburg. Long, slow walks through Central Park. Loss and grief and awareness of what’s important. Cold winds and scarves wrapped tight. Champagne and Blueberry pie. Apartment hunting. Sweet honeymoon memories. Jet lag. High Line walks. Revisiting favourite restaurants. Lobster rolls and sunshine. West Village streets. Aching feet and the happiest of happy hearts.
This Wednesday coming is a monumental day for us - it’s the day we find out if we’ve passed the final test that will allow us to follow our dream of moving to NYC. We’ve worked so very hard in making our dream a reality, so please, if you can -- have everything crossed for us!
